The japan you don't know - Our arrive to Kagoshima

16 July 2019

After days and days spent walking through dark houses, travelling on punctual trains and getting to know on our way stuff, stuff, and again stuff that solve every silly problem, my body is tired, my soul is in rags. Meanwhile, it’s already night.

We arrive in Kagoshima driving the long way that goes straight from the airport to the outskirts, immersed in the harsh and gloomy Japanese vegetation.

BACK TO THE K2 WITH MIKE HORN

12 July 2019

The K2 has a special place in our heart. It was there in 1954 that our boots made history together with the italian expedition which conquered for the first time that mighty peak. We can't be more proud therefore to get back there with the extreme explorer Mike Horn, supporting him in his approach towards the mountain and during the acclimatization, premise of his attempt to reach those epic 8.611 m together with Fred Roux.

The beauty of Rajasthan - part 2

13 June 2019

After an intense adventure in Jaipur, the following day we set off for Pushkar. We arrived in this beautiful village that surrounds the sacred waters of a lake after a three hours drive

Two things about Pushkar are unmissable: its narrow streets full of shops and the Savitri temple, perched on the summit of the mountain dominating the city. The view up there is breathtaking, surrounded by countless monkeys. Just be careful not to bring food, they will snatch it from your hands!

Nightfall in the desert

28 May 2019

Tonight, a cold wind is rising a fine and annoying sand. From the vertex of the dunes it rises slightly, giving, even more, to this place, the sense of infinity. My jeep is beached and now, on foot, I want to reach those ridges high up and from there to see further east, the forbidden borders with Algeria.

Regular stuff at el Chalten

02 April 2019

What a grey weather we’re having this morning! We are all piled on the back of Piro's pick-up truck, stopped here for far too long. We’re waiting for someone who can open the doors of a warehouse, inside of which – as far as I’ve understood – there should be a tank of diesel fuel of dubious origin.

Towards the Cerro Torre

02 April 2019

It looks incredible. Yesterday we were in Belluno (Italy), and now we’re here in Argentina, on our way towards the Laguna Torre, in the Los Glaciares National Park. I’ve walked this path plenty of times in my life, but whenever I come back here it’s just like the first one.

A winter story - ice climbing in Canada

19 March 2019

My winter has been incredible, full of travels and adventures in various places around the world where it’s possible to practice ice climbing.

At the beginning of January I left the USA, travelling to Canada to climb in one of the most interesting places in the world for the ice falls: the Canadian central-west area, just between Alberta and British Columbia. There I spent 10 days, climbing some of the most beautiful ice falls I’ve ever seen.
