Dolomite scores twice at ISPO Award 2021

We're delighted to announce that the independent ISPO Award jury has selected two Dolomite products among the most innovative projects of the sports industry in 2021:

・ Our brand new sustainable shoe SORAPIS (available in stores and online starting from September 2021) was chosen as ISPO AWARD 2021 GOLD WINNER in the lifestyle footwear category;

・The VELOCISSIMA (available in stores and online starting from February, 16th) shoe was selected as ISPO 2021 WINNER in the outdoor and trekking category.

The ISPO Award has established itself internationally as a trend-setting award for outstanding products. It is with great honour that Dolomite receives these prestigious awards that acknowledge brand's determination to innovate.

SORAPIS was awarded for its sustainable nature, thanks to the careful research of materials and to the collaboration with socially responsible partners. This achievement will grant SORAPIS to run for the PRODUCT OF THE YEAR award.

SORAPIS

Sorapiss is our leading light when it comes to sustainability, and the first shoe from our collection to be Re-Source certified. Dolomite has developed a list of parameters considered essential in order for a shoe to be declared environmentally responsible, and Sorapis is our first shoe to tick all the boxes.
The upper features a modern design – urban at heart, but with details that strongly reflect the spirit of iconic mountain footwear – with leather sourced from Italian tanneries and certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG), a not-for-profit international organisation responsible for the largest leather sustainability programme in the world. The leather is also metal-free.
The second essential parameter in order for a shoe to gain “Re-Source” status has to do with the use of recycled materials to produce its components. The laces, lining and arch support of Sorapis are made with Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified materials.The presence of organic-based materials is the third criterion used to assess the level of sustainability of our footwear, and the Vibram® N-Oil sole fully meets this requirement. Composed of 90% non-petroleum-derived materials and dyed using 100% natural pigments, it has recently gained certification from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
The process of integrating recycled, certified and organic-based materials enables us to improve the environmental and social impact of our products, while our constant search for and cooperation with socially-responsible suppliers and production partners means we can improve the sustainability of our own processes. These are all essential aspects of imagining a better future.

VELOCISSIMA GTX

An Italian-made shoe that ably combines over a century of artisanal skills at Dolomite with the very latest construction technology, striking the perfect balance between climbing and trekking, tradition and innovation, performance and Italian style.
The upper is made using the textile technology of Perspair®, which weaves “superfibres” directly into the loom. This ensures an incredible lightness and abrasion resistance, and is fully seam-free, wrapping the foot comfortably and enabling you to give your top performance.Now construction methods such as “double lasting” enhance the shoe, giving greater resistance in the toe and a more precise and controlled fit. The elasticised fabric tongue and the lacing system also help to wrap the foot comfortably.
An all-in-one model suitable for a range of activities, thanks above all to the brand new Dolomite Crossover soles with MegaGrip compound, created by Vibram®. The meeting point between friction and grip. High performance on both wet and dry surfaces, and unbeatable adaptability to the terrain, thanks to the original CARRARMATO design by Vibram®. The sole also features a “climbing zone”, offering maximum grip and excellent performance when climbing. The GORE-TEX elastic lining ensures waterproofing and breathability.
